PREFFERED METHOD
The best way to download your files is to use a dedicated FTP program. Dedicated FTP is faster and simpler than browser based transfer. For the Mac Fetch and Transmit are popular full featured programs. CyberDuck is a nice donationware alternative. For the PC ws_FTP and FTP Commander are good choices. Settings for using any these programs are shown below. Note that everything is in lower case letters. Substitute your personal username and password.
Host Name: ferguson-photo-design.com
User ID: username@ferguson-photo-design.com
Password: password
Note: There will be 2 folders named "public_html" and "Maildir" on your files list. These are part of the web hosting system, NOT part of your project. You are welcome to look at them, but they do not contain any of your images.
ALTERNATIVE WEB BROWSER METHOD
Many, but not all, web browsers will allow FTP access.
For Macs I've had success with Firefox 2, Opera 9, Netscape 7.2 and Internet Explorer 5.5. One browser that doesn't work is Safari version 1.5 or 2.
For PCs running XP I've had success with Firefox 1.5 and 2.0, Opera 9 and Netscape 8.1. One PC browser that doesn't work is Internet Explorer version 6 or 7.
Simply click your link below. You should then see a dialog box. Your username should autofill, simply enter your password (lowercase letters) and hit send. Mac users: "Control+Click" on any files you want to download. PC users: right click on any files you want to download.
Note: There may be 2 folders named "public_html" and "Maildir" on your files list. These are part of the web hosting software, NOT part of your project. You are welcome to look at them, but they do not contain any of your images.
