Changing lenses
Loading film
Setting film speed on camera: automatic DX and manual
Focusing: manual and autofocus. Point selection and autofocus limitations
Film to use for homework assignments
Camera exposure modes (manual, shutter priority, aperture priority, program)
Motion and shutter speeds
Homework:
1) Use slow speed film (ISO 50 or 100)
2) Use your camera’s “Shutter Priority mode”
3) Shoot your subject two ways:
a) Stop Motion (typical setting are 1/125th to 1/1000th)
b) Motion Blur (typical setting are 1/30th to 1/60th)
4) This exercise is best shot outdoors. Bring your favorite example of each style to next class (at least 2 prints).
