Website Hosting Options
A website residing on our computer can not be seen by the general public. In order for a website to be shared with everyone else on the web, it must be "hosted". The "host" then "broadcasts" the site to the entire world wide web.
Ferguson Photography and Design offers three levels of hosting (from the small and simple to the complete). We only host sites we have designed or updated. We are not in the general hosting business for the public. We are also happy to work with your existing host. You are not required to change hosts in order for us to design or modernise your site.
Please note that some webpage features (primarily e-commorce and database features) have very specific host requirements that may not be met by your current host.
Tiny Hosting Service $20 per Year:
- 3 Mb Storage (plenty for our economy template sites)
- 30Mb transfer per month
- 1 incoming only auto-responder email acount with 5Mb mailbox
- 0 FTP drop boxes
- 0 databases (so a poor choice for e-commerce)
- $20 per year (in advance)
- Optional: URL registration $20 per year in advance
- Optional: Monthly top 100 trafic report of your site's pages and folders and multimedia emailed as both a PDF and excel document, $80 per year in advance. No self service reporting available.
Small Hosting Service $40 per Year:
- 10 Mb Storage
- 100Mb transfer per month
- 1 incoming only auto-responder email acount with 10Mb mailbox
- 0 FTP drop boxes
- 0 databases (poor choice for e-commerce)
- $40 per year (in advance)
- Optional: URL registration $20 per year in advance
- Optional: Monthly top 100 trafic report of your site's pages and folders and multimedia emailed as both a PDF and excel document, $80 per year in advance. No self service reporting available.
Full Hosting Service $295 per Year:
- 100 Mb Storage
- 1,000Mb transfer per month
- Up to 1,000 email acounts (incoming, outgoing and web-mail)
- Up to 1,000 FTP boxes
- MySQL databases with PHP support (great choice for ecommerce)
- SSL Certiciate available (great choice for ecommerce)
- $295 per year (in advance)
- Optional: URL registration $20 per year in advance
- You also get use of an Urchin panel to generate your own reports free of charge. However, if you would rather we generate a monthly
report for you:
- Optional: Monthly top 100 trafic report of your site's pages and folders and multimedia emailed as both a PDF and excel document, $80 per year in advance.
Getting a host and registering a URL are two different services. They are both needed before people can view your website on the world wide web.
