Fine art photography by Tom Ferguson. Still lifes, botanicals, collage, landscapes and more in platinum, palladium, cyanotype, gum, silver gelatin and alternative process. My interest in fine art photography started in high school, but was interrupted first by playing bass, then by the sport of mountain climbing. When I rediscovered photography in 1988, it was natural that my first subjects were the mountains I had climbed. Later I would concentrate on still lifes and city scapes. Most of my fine art photography is an attempt to explore the peace and beauty so often overlooked in today's hectic world.
I work in a variety of styles and techniques, creating fine art photography portfolios of still lifes, photograms, pinhole and cityscapes. I print my images in platinum, palladium, cyanotype, gum, silver gelatin, alternative process, and cibachrome. My intention is to let the subject, and my reactions to it, dictate my style and technique.
I was born in 1957 at Kalamazoo, Michigan, and raised in the Detroit area. I moved to Los Angeles in 1976, and currently live in Simi Valley, California with my wife, Karen.
