Digital Photography - Introduction: September 2010 Evening Class
This workshop will give you the essential skills needed to get started with digital photography. Students will learn about camera controls, shooting modes, file formats, resolution, memory cards, electronic flash, white balance and downloading images to your computer. Additionally, course covers composition, simple enhancing, preparing photos for email or websites, printers and selecting digital image-editing software.

Participants should bring their digital camera to class for picture taking. Please read the instruction manual before the first class. If you do not yet own a digital camera, you are welcome to attend the first class before purchasing a camera.

Instructor: Tom Ferguson is both a commercial and fine art photographer. As a commercial photographer he shoots product, architecture and corporate portraiture. As a fine art photographer he has appeared in over 100 exhibitions nationwide.

Digital Photography - Intermediate: October 2010 Evening Class
Wanting to improve your photography skills in time for holiday picture taking? This class is for those who have attended Digital Photography Introduction or for those very familiar with their camera. This class will place more emphasis on the creative process. Topics will include visualizing, composing, and designing better photographs. Students will learn to control and see light, both existing and flash. Students should bring their digital camera to class. Those wishing to learn more about using software to enhance their images are encouraged to also attend the Beginning Photoshop Elements class at CVAS.
